Author: Katherine Howe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars (a B)
Cover Rating: A
This book was a good book... A 3 star book.
It captures the life of Massachusetts and the historical infuluence still seen while doing flashbacks on the end of 17th century and the story of the Salem witch trials. The plot is obviously written or by a PhD student or by a professor, and indeed it is, so get prepared for research and college life in grad school. The plot has some secondary romance, which was quite expected since the beginning.
I gave it 4 stars because the author really did reaserch for this book and she tried to describe the witch hunt part as historically accurate as possible sticking to her characters, who at least 3/4 were real people. Also, the main character's life is indirectly hers which I liked...the indirect biography.
The narrative was quick and detailed when it needed to be and of course addictive'! I couldn't put it down. A good book :-) highly recommended for Salem trial intrested people!
